The Work.
What it is
What you get.
What you get is a weekly one-hour private call with me, and a direct line to me between calls that I answer within 72 hours.
The written work — the Canon, the Ten Questions, the Dispatches, the archive of everything you write — lives in a private Portal you enter through the site.
The Canon is thirty tenets I've organized into eight sections. You'll read from it every week and we'll talk about what applies to what's actually in front of you.
The Ten Questions are the ten I return to with every member. You answer them at the start, and every thirty days after that, and we watch what changes.
$375 / session · unlimited between-call access
Price, and the math.
$1,500 a month is roughly $375 per one-on-one session, plus unlimited written access between sessions.
For comparison: a credentialed executive coach in Phoenix runs $400 to $800 per hour with no access between sessions. Weekly private therapy runs $175 to $250 per session and stops when the hour does. I am neither of those things — this is coaching, not therapy — but the price comparison is the honest one.
Weeks 1 – 12
What the first ninety days look like.
Weeks 1 – 2
We meet on the phone for our first call. You draft your first-pass answers to the Ten Questions in the Portal. I read them. We talk about what shows up.
Weeks 3 – 6
The rhythm settles. One call a week. Between calls, you write to the Office as needed. I answer within 72 hours. We begin working through the Canon in the volume that matches where you actually are.
Weeks 7 – 12
The pattern of your own life becomes visible in the strip chart. We work on the two or three things that are actually driving the surface problem, rather than the surface problem itself.
30-day refund window · one email · full refund of month one
The refund.
If you want out in the first thirty days, write one line to office@hypocenterinitiative.com and I refund the month. No exit interview. No conversation. After thirty days you can cancel any month from your account and the next month won't charge.
Scope
What this is not.
This is coaching, not therapy. It is not medical care, psychiatric care, or a substitute for either. If what you need is clinical care I will tell you so in our first call and help you find it. In the meantime, in urgent moments, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available at any hour.
Frequently asked
Eight questions I hear most often.
1. What actually happens on a call?
You call me at the scheduled time. We spend the first ten minutes on what has moved and what hasn't since the last call. We spend the next thirty to forty minutes on whatever is actually in front of you — the specific decision, the specific pattern, the specific piece of writing from the Portal you want to work through. The last ten minutes are the assignment: what to write, what to notice, what to do before we speak again.
2. What if I don't know what I want to work on?
Most men who arrive with this concern know exactly what they want to work on within about twenty minutes of the first call. The Ten Questions log is designed for this: you write your first pass through the ten questions in the first two weeks, and the shape of what wants attention becomes visible in what you wrote and what you avoided.
3. Is this therapy?
No. This is coaching. I do not have a clinical license and I do not offer clinical care. If your situation is one that a therapist or psychiatrist should be handling, I will say so plainly in our first call and help you find the right person. Coaching and therapy are different practices for different problems.
4. What if we're not a fit?
The thirty-day refund exists exactly for this. You have thirty days from your first charge to email me and get the month back in full. I would rather you leave in the first month than stay six because you feel obligated. If either of us thinks it isn't working during that window, I'll say so first.
5. Who else is in this?
Four to six other men at any time. That is the ceiling of my calendar and it is a real one. I do not disclose who the other members are — the whole point of the practice is that what happens inside it stays inside it. What I can tell you: everyone here is doing the actual work, has been through some version of the fast interior-work stuff, and did not find it enough.
6. What happens to what I write?
Your writing is stored encrypted at rest in the Portal database. I can read messages you send me through the Office — that is the entire point of the Office. I cannot read your Ten Questions answers or your private Tenets — those two tables are locked at the database layer so my administrative account has no read access. Nothing you write anywhere is used for marketing, published, or shared. On cancellation you may request full deletion and I confirm it in writing within seven days.
7. What if I'm travelling or miss a week?
We reschedule. The weekly slot is a recurring Cal.com booking under your account; you can move it forward or back within the same week without asking me. If you're away for a longer stretch, we can pause the call schedule while you stay a paying member, or you can cancel and rejoin later if there's a seat open. I don't prorate a missed week; the between-call access is doing work whether we speak or not.
8. How do I cancel?
From the Profile screen inside the Portal there is a link to the Stripe Customer Portal. One click cancels the next charge. No exit interview. If you're within thirty days of your first charge, email me instead and I refund the whole month. Either way, you keep access through the end of the month you already paid for.

If you're ready, this is the door.
There is a short consent page next. Nothing surprising on it — the scope statement, the refund window, the Terms and Privacy links. Then payment.
